NEW RIVER PEOPLE IN BUSINESS

WILLIAM BRUBAKER has been named general manager of the Volvo-GM Heavy Truck assembly plant in Dublin.

Brubaker began his career as an industrial engineer at the plant in 1975. He became industrial engineering manager in 1978 and was production manager from October 1986 to June 1991.

For the past 18 months, he has been at the company's Greensboro, N.C., headquarters.

A native of Covington, Brubaker earned a bachelor of science in forestry and wildlife from Virginia Tech in 1967 and in industrial engineering in 1971.

The New River Valley Home Builders Association has installed new officers for 1993.

They are: SCOTT HILL, president; TIM LAWRENCE, vice president; TONY HOUFF, treasurer; JEFF PRICE, secretary; BARBARA MARTIN, associate vice president; JEANNE STOSSER, immediate past president.

The 1993 Board of Directors is: CHARLES COMER, R. BRUCE CUNNINGHAM, BILL OSBORNE, NICK ROMANTINI, STERLING SMILEY, GEORGIA ANNE SNYDER-FALKINHAM, ALAN TAYLOE, MARK CRAIG and DEVIN STONER.

Awards were presented at the December dinner meeting to: SCOTT HILL, design excellence/single family; BOB LEACH, design excellence/commercial; Owens and Company Realtors, JOANNE PALMER, marketing excellence; Showcase Home Builders, ROGER WOODY, marketing excellence/builder; United Gas Co., honor member firm; \ ROBERT L. MILLER, presidential award; BARBARA MARTIN, committee chairwoman of the year; SCOTT STOSSER, rookie of the year; JEANNE STOSSER, Johnny Haynes Memorial Membership Award; MARK CRAIG, associate of the year; GEORGIA ANNE SNYDER-FALKINHAM, builder of the year. Certificates were presented to JEANNE STOSSER and LARRY MARTIN for membership recruitment accomplishments.

\ ROBERT C. BOLLES JR. has joined Draper Aden Associates as the Blacksburg survey coordinator.

He will be responsible for surveying activities and supervision of surveying office personnel in the firm's Blacksburg office.

\ RALPH PETRONE of Blacksburg has won the senior residential appraiser designation from the Appraisal Institute, the major industry trade group.

The designation is the most widely recognized residential designation in the real estate appraisal profession.
