134 MANAGER APPLICATIONS BEING SCREENED BY TOWN
Pulaski officials are screening 134 applications for town manager.Don Holycross, who has held the position since January 1990, will finish his last day on the job Friday. After that, he will become town manager for Atlantic Beach, N.C.
"We've got some good ones in there," Councilman Andrew Graham said Friday following a council committee meeting.
Holycross told Mayor Gary Hancock that the top 20 applications will be screened for full Town Council consideration. "We plan to have the list to you by Tuesday," he said.
Three-quarters or more of the applicants have masters' degrees.
Holycross announced his resignation at a council meeting Dec. 1. He was chosen from 211 applicants to be manager of the North Carolina resort community located on the Southern Outer Banks.
The town had gone to the manager form of government just recently. Holycross will be its first manager.
