SCHOOL BOARD UPHOLDS GUN-TRINKET EXPULSION
The School Board has decided to uphold the expulsion of an 11-year-old boy who brought to school a 1 1/4-inch toy gun trinket that was purchased for 25 cents in a supermarket vending machine.James Flippen, the attorney for the boy's mother, said Friday he was notified by an assistant city attorney of the board's decision. There was no indication whether any members of the board dissented, Flippen said.
The decision came at a closed meeting of the board Thursday night. - Associated Press
