BUCS ANNOUNCE 1993 SCHEDULE
The Salem Buccaneers begin the 49th Carolina League baseball season April 8 with a four-game series in Kinston before returning home for the April 13th home opener with the Wilmington (Del.) Blue Rocks, the former Peninsula Pilots.
As usual, each of the eight league teams will play 140 games with divisional champions decided in each half. The first half ends June 20 and the second half Sept. 4. Even though the Bucs have been moved to the Southern Division, they will continue to play each league team 20 times. A new quirk to the schedule this year calls for nine off dates because of new requirements from the parent clubs.
Games will continue to be at 7 p.m. with the exception of Sunday games in April and May, which will be 3 p.m. Sunday games move to 7 p.m. starting in June.
