AKERS, Lula Stockner, 74, of Hillsville, passed away Friday, January 15, 1993 at Twin County Community Hospital. She was born June 8, 1918 at Carroll County, Va. to the late Columbus and Iza Pernetta Lundy Stockner. She is survived by two daughters, Betty Elizabeth Vernon, Hillsville, Iza Delp, Hickory, N.C.; three sons, Emory L. Dalton, Pontevedra Beach, Fla., James Irvin Stockner, Newton, N.C., Donald Dillard Akers, Hillsville; six grandchildren, Beth Barkoskie, Angel Vernon, Lynn Vernon, Michael Delp, Collin Dillard Delp, Cory Dalton; three stepgrandchildren, Jeff Farris, Karen Farris, Scottie White; one great-grandson, Martin Barkoskie. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 1993 at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with the Rev. James Lawson and Elder Jess Higgins officiating. Burial in the Felts Memorial Cemetery, Galax. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements by Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville.
