OBIT COMPTON, EDWARD FREEMAN ("NED")

COMPTON, Edward Freeman ("Ned"), 81, of Washington, D.C., died Wednesday, January 13, 1993. He was formerly of Vinton. Surviving are his wife, Purney Spradling Compton; sister, Lucille Compton Pugh of Roanoke; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Evelyn Compton of Vinton; a special friend, Frederick R. Wolff of Washington, D.C. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Vinton Chapel 1 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Dr. William Ross officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel after 9 a.m. Sunday.
