ARNOLD, Vonia, (Mrs. Phipps), 85, of Roanoke, died Friday, January 15, 1993, in Friendship Manor in Roanoke, Va. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Charles "Chuck" and Christine Arnold, Roanoke, Va.; four sisters, Mrs. Glenn Gobble, Roanoke, Va., Mrs. Vivian Routh, Saltville, Va., Mrs. Zella Taylor, Augusta, Ga.; Mrs. Patty Borders, Newport News, Va.; three grandchildren, Capt. Tyron Arnold and his wife, Tami of Panama City, Fla., Misty Arnold Otey and her husband, Larry of Roanoke, Va., John Howard Arnold, New Castle, Delaware; six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday (1-17-93) in The D. R. Henderson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Woodrow McIntyre and the Rev. Claude Oliver officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabeth Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 Saturday evening at Henderson's Funeral Home in Saltville, Va.
