Financial officer named

PHIL DAVIS has been named chief financial officer and manager of corporate finance at Ferguson, Andrews & Associates, a Roanoke financial services firm.

A veteran of the securities industry, he has held senior positions with Interstate/Johnson Lane in Charlotte, N.C.; Johnson, Lane, Space, Smith & Co. in Atlanta; and Wheat First Securities.

A native of Norfolk, Davis holds undergraduate and masters of business administration degrees from the University of Virginia.

ARCHITECTURE

\ WILLIAM D. CRAIG has joined the health care division of SFCS Inc. in Roanoke as senior project manager. Most recently, he worked as division manager for KZF Architects & Engineers in Cincinnati.

BANKING

\ ROBERT W. WORLEY JR. has been appointed director of personnel for First Union Corp., which will take over Dominion Bank. Since 1986, Worley has been director of human resources of First Union National Bank of Florida. From December 1985 to July 1986, he was manager of human resource development for First Union National Bank of North Carolina. Prior to that, he was the personnel division manager for Northwestern Bank in Wilkesboro, N.C.

COMMUNICATIONS

\ JOHN M. FINLAYSON has been appointed sales vice president for the Southeast region of the business network sales division at AT&T. He will be responsible for the customer satisfaction and network sales for large business customers in the District of Columbia, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, Maryland and the Carolinas. He previously worked as the general director of services for AT&T's telecommunications equipment division in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware.

FINANCIAL SERVICES

\ ANGELA CIAFARDINI has been promoted to vice president of operations for American Manpower Technologies Inc., a benefits program design firm specializing in employee leasing, payroll data processing and insurance brokerage. She previously worked as manager of operations for the Roanoke-based company.

FORESTRY

Jefferson National Forest hydrologist KEN LANDGRAF has been promoted to forest planning staff officer at the headquarters in Roanoke. His new responsibilities include revision of the forest plan, implementation and coordination of environmental analysis for projects proposed within the national forest and long-range program budget direction.

GOVERNMENT

\ KAREN S. IANNACCONE of Blacksburg has been named to the Virginia Small Grains Board. The board was established by the General Assembly to oversee an estimated $200,000 in year check-off dues from small grains farmers.

The city of Salem has appointed ROBERT W. SOUTHARD to serve on the board of directors of Mental Health Services of the Roanoke Valley. He is a sales representative of the H.J. Heinz Co.

INSURANCE

\ RANDY SINK has been named regional manager of marketing for Delta Dental Plan of Virginia. He will oversee sales and service in Southwest and Northern Virginia. Previously an independent agent in Northern Virginia, he also has worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Virginia.

RETIREMENT CENTERS

\ DAVID R. MURRAY has been appointed director of development of The Warm Hearth Retirement Village, a non-profit senior living community in Blacksburg. He will direct the Warm Hearth Foundation's annual and capital fund-raising efforts. He formerly was executive director of the Julian Stanley Wise Foundation in Roanoke.

Yvonne S. Olson has been named a resident services administrator at Westminster-Canterbury, a continuing care retyirement community in Lynchburg. She will oversee the operation of the center's Independent Living program. She formerly worked as vice president for residential services at Goodwin House and Goodwin House West in Northern Virginia.

ROBOTICS

Cybermotion Inc., a Roanoke manufacturer of mobile robot systems, has made several staff changes.

\ CLAUDIA KAMEL of Roanoke has been promoted to sales support coordinator. She has been an administrative assistant for the past two years.

\ CELESTE DeCORTE of Christiansburg has joined the company as applications engineer. Her duties include working with robot system installation and acting as a customer liaison. She previously worked as a nuclear engineer at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth.

\ DAVID FISHER of Roanoke has been named mechanical designer. He formerly worked as chief designer for Design Craft Inc. in Salem.

\ TIM ORWIG of Roanoke has been appointed communications director. He previously worked as program coordinator for Literacy Volunteers of America-Roanoke Valley and an instructor at Virginia Western Community College and National Business College.

\ ROBERT PEERMAN of Vinton has been named an electronics technician. He was formerly an electrician's helper at Engleby Electric Co.
