FREE THROWS BY CAMPBELL DUMP RADFORD
Steve Martin hit five of six free throws in the final 2:39 in helping Campbell take an 87-84 Big South Conference basketball victory over Radford on Saturday.Martin finished with 13 points for Campbell (3-7 overall, 1-1 Big South), which ended a seven-game losing streak.
Radford (8-8, 2-1) closed to 83-80 with 34 seconds left when Doug Day hit his sixth 3-pointer.
Scott Neely made one of two free throws for Campbell, then Radford's Brian Schmall sank two free throws to make it 84-82 with 20 seconds remaining.
Martin then hit two free throws and, after Schmall drove for a basket, Martin sank another free throw for the final margin.
Joe Spinks led the Camels with a career high 25 points before fouling out with 2:34 left. Mark Mocnik added 16, Neely put in 12 and Billy Ellison had 10.
Day led the Highlanders with 29 points. \
