NOVEMBER HOME SALES RISE
Home sales for November were up 5 percent over the same month last year, according numbers released by the Virginia Association of Realtors."The November sales figures reflect the continued low interest rates that only moved slightly after the election and the growing hope and optimism that the Clinton administration's policies and actions will have a positive impact on real estate and the economy," said Edward Pagett, president of VAR.
In Virginia, 4,306 homes were put under contract in November compared to 4,089 for the same month in 1991.
Virginia's total sales were up to 60,257 through November, a 8.3 percent increase over 1991 sales numbers.
