MAN ROBS KMART, SPRAYS 2 WITH MACE
A man sprayed a store clerk and another person with Mace Saturday afternoon after stealing about $115 worth of compact discs from Kmart on Hershberger Road.According to police, a man entered the department store in the late afternoon, grabbed the CDs, and attempted to leave.
The man was confronted by a Kmart employee, Jeffrey Alan Spencer. He sprayed Spencer in the face with Mace and told him that he had a gun.
Other employees and passers-by started chasing the man. Larry Moncada, 42, was sprayed in the face.
The man ran to Delray Street with another man pursuing him. He picked up a brick and threatened to hit the man pursuing him in the head.
Later, a city police officer spotted the suspect walking on Williamson Road. Leslie Scott Boston Jr., 20, of Robin Lynn Road Northwest, was charged with petty larceny and two counts of malicious body injury.
Police also reported that five men robbed and kicked James Ramsdell, 26, of Berkeley Avenue Southwest, Sunday morning on Melrose Avenue. Ramsdell's gun was taken and he was left on the street as the assailants drove away in his car. The car was found with the stereo and speakers removed.
