OBIT MUSE, CURTIS MURPHY
MUSE, Curtis Murphy, 64, of Route 1, Penhook, died Sunday night in the
Franklin Memorial Hospital in Rocky Mount. Born August 6, 1928 in Franklin
County, he was the son of the late James Muse and Mrs. Myrtle Finney Muse. He
was an army veteran of the Korean Conflict, was a retired machine operator
from Pennick Corporation and was a member of the Greater Mt. Parrish Baptist
Church in Penhook. Mr. Muse is survived by two daughters, Victoria Dock of
Patterson, N.J., and Phebe Rich of Newark, N.J.; three brothers, Willie Muse
and Frederick Muse, both of Roanoke, and Samuel Muse of Newark, N.J.; one
sister, Mrs. Queenie Townes of Portsmouth; one granddaughter, Aigner Rich; a
special friend, Julie B. Poindexter of Penhook; four aunts; seven nieces and
nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2
p.m. from the Greater Mt. Parrish Baptist Church by Dr. Samuel Easley with
burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church
Wednesday from 7 to 8 p.m. and at other times at the residence of Ms. Julie B.
Poindexter, Route 1, Penhook. Miller Funeral Home, Gretna, is in charge of the
arrangements.
