OBIT RYAN, THELMA VIRGINIA HELMS
RYAN, Thelma Virginia Helms, 59, of King George, died Sunday, January 17,
1993 at Mary Washington Hospital. She was born in Blacksburg and was a retired
electronics technician at the Naval Surface Warfare Center of Dahlgren. She
was a member of the Alleghany Church of Christ in Christiansburg and a member
of the Auxiliary #1629 of the Moose and American Legion Auxiliary Post #148 of
Colonial Beach. She is survived by her husband, Eldridge (Sonny) Ryan; one
son, Mark A. Ryan of Edgewood, Md.; her mother, Louise Helms of Blacksburg;
one brother, Hobart Harless Helms of Christiansburg; three grandsons. Funeral
services will be at Richardson-Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg 1 p.m.
Thursday, January 21, with interment in Sunset Cemetery in Christiansburg.
Rev. Jerry Sloss will officiate. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 Wednesday
evening at the funeral home.
