CLINT MILLER PUTS PRINCIPLE FIRST

I COMMEND you for the three excellent articles on how handguns are fueling crime inside and outside of Virginia. Our state legislators need to put citizen safety above political ambitions and vote for the one-gun-a-month legislation.

Del. Clint Miller, who is seeking the Republican nomination for governor, is putting his principles above political ambition. Though he has received an A+ from the National Rifle Association, he is firm on his support of this handgun legislation.

Our state and country would be strengthened if we had more legislators like Miller who have integrity and take a courageous stand to put citizen welfare and safety ahead of political gain. DOROTHY SHIFFLETT SALEM
