Nancy Reagan's anti-drug foundation awarded nearly $500,000 this month in grants to organizations across the country.The nonprofit Nancy Reagan Foundation has awarded more than $3.7 million since January 1989, for drug education, prevention and treatment. Fifteen recent recipients got $473,510.
The largest grants of $50,000 apiece went to The American Council for Drug Education in Rockville, Md.; Ohio Parents for Drug Free Youth in Columbus, Ohio; Optimist International in St. Louis; Partnership for a Drug-Free Community Inc., in Huntsville, Ala.; and the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark.
