WORKSHOP OFFERS HELP TO ASPIRING WRITERS

A five-hour workshop for aspiring magazine writers will be offered at Blue Ridge Books from 2 to 8 p.m. Jan. 30.

Robert McKinney, who has published more than 200 articles in magazines including Sporting Classics, Virginia Game and Fish, Blue Ridge Country, Virginia Wildlife and others, will be the instructor.

The workshop will cover market selection, research, organizing and writing, photography and illustration, manuscript preparation, and writing query letters.

The cost is $30, which includes materials. Pre-registration is required because the workshop size is limited. Further information is available by calling 228-8303.
