OBIT LOEBL, W.
LOEBL, Walter S. 84, of Roanoke, passed away Monday, January 18, 1993 in a
local hospital. He was a member of Temple Emmanuel, and a past president of
both it's Brotherhood and B'nai B'rith. Mr. Loebl was a resident of Roanoke
for 75 years, a member of the first graduating class of Jefferson High School,
and an Army Captain during World War II. Originally trained as an attorney, he
spent most of his career with Loebl Cleaners and Dye Works, Inc., and was a
longtime member and past president of the Big Lick Stamp Club and a lifetime
member of the Roanoke Elks Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Tina Loebl; two sons
and daughters-in-law, Richard and Judy Loebl, Huntington Woods, Mich., Fred
and Amy Loebl, Berkeley, Calif.; two granddaughters, Naomi and Rachel; a
grandson, Robert, a devoted sister-in-law, Edna Loebl, Roanoke; and numerous
nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be conducted from the graveside,
Temple Emmanuel Cemetery at noon Wednesday with Rabbi Frank Muller
officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be
made to Temple Emmanuel (1163 Persinger Road, S.W.; Roanoke, VA 24015).
