RANSONE, William Alexander III ("Bill"), 53, of Buchanan, died Tuesday. He was a graduate of Roanoke College and attended the Medical College of Virginia. He was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, a member of the Buchanan Baptist Church, member of the Buchanan Rotary Club, and a former employee of James River Limestone Co. He is survived by a son, William A. Ransone IV, Hanover, New Hampshire; two daughters and sons-in-law, Charlotte R. and Brian Strain, Roanoke, Blair R. and Rick Waite, Huntersville, N.C.; granddaughter, Sarah Strain; parents, William A. and Winnie Painter Ransone Jr., Buchanan; sister, Katherine Sue Booze, Buchanan. Funeral services wil be held Thursday, January 21, 1993 at 4 p.m. in Buchanan Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Woody officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Buchanan. The family will receive friends at the Ransone home on Albemarle Avenue, Buchanan, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Buchanan Rescue Squad.
