OBIT TAYLOR, S.

TAYLOR, Styrle I. Sr., 92, of Salem, died Tuesday, January 19, 1993 at his home. He was a Salem resident for most of his life and had retired from the Virginia Railroad Company as a lineman with 40 years of service. He was a member of the Central United Methodist Church in Salem, a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, Salem, and a member of the Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Anna R. Taylor; and his son, Styrle I. Taylor Jr. He is survived by two daughters, Mary F. Whitesell, Greensburg, Pa., Lynette T. Reed, Christiansburg; a daughter-in-law, Susie W. Taylor, Salem; two sons, Charles W. "Bill" Taylor, and James P. "Pete" Taylor, both of Salem; a devoted niece, Sandra Reynolds, Newport, Va.; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, 11 a.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. A. Howell Franklin. Burial will follow in the Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Central United Methodist Church Memorial Fund or the Salem Volunteer Rescue Squad. Arrangements by John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home, Salem.
