MAN CHARGED IN SLAYINGS OF WOMAN, TOT

A neighbor of a woman who was found bludgeoned to death along with her 5-year-old daughter was arrested Wednesday and charged in the slayings, police said.

Russell W. Burket, 25, lived next door to the victims, authorities said.

Burket was charged with capital murder, burglary with intent to commit murder and other offenses stemming from the slayings of Katherine Ann Tafelski, 30, and her daughter, Ashley. Their bodies were found in their home last Thursday.
