PROFESSOR CRITICIZES CHASE THAT KILLED 3
An expert has criticized a recent police chase that ended in a collision, killing three people."A stolen car isn't worth the price," said Geoffrey P. Alpert, a University of South Carolina justice professor and the author of a book on police chases. "Chases need to be limited to life-threatening situations."
The crash Sunday in Falls Church killed school principal Emory Wayne Burchett, 43, and his daughters, 12-year-old Kara and 8-year-old Rena.
The driver of the car being pursued, a 17-year-old boy from Annandale, was in critical condition at Washington Hospital Center. - Associated Press
