ARTS CENTER TO RECEIVE ARTS EDUCATION AWARD

The William King Regional Arts Center has been recognized by the Virginia Alliance for Arts Education with an award.

Charles F. Bleick, alliance president, has notified center director Betsy White that the center is getting the 1992 Virginia Alliance for Arts Education Distinguished Service Award.

The center had been nominated by Barbara P. Chavatel, instructional service supervisor with Washington County schools. The awards committee chose it based on its "exemplary support for arts education in the Washington County schools and the many surrounding communities of Southwest Virginia," Bleick said. - Southwest bureau
