OBIT SMALLWOOD, WILMER JOHN

SMALLWOOD, Wilmer John, 79, of Callaway, died Thursday, January 21, 1993. He was retired from the Norfolk & Western Railway and the City of Roanoke Water Department. Surviving are his wife, Pearlene Greenway Smallwood; daughter, Norma Jean Beckner, Callaway; one son, Gary Wayne Smallwood; sister and brother-in-law, Lewis and Nell Minter of Roanoke; a brother and sister-in-law, Dwight and Irene Smallwood of Vinton; grandsons, Walter Wayne Smallwood and wife, Carmen of Roanoke; Christopher Smallwood of Blacksburg; one great-granddaughter, Julie Smallwood. Services will be from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel noon Saturday. The Rev. Ken Wright and Mr. Veltie T. Wright will officiate. Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
