Lay theology school to be held in March"Educating Christians for Life and Ministry" is the goal of the annual Lay School of Theology, a four-week March program on Sunday nights. Its sponsors include Roanoke College and Lutheran Cooperative Ministry. Registration fee of $10 is due by March 1. A nursery will be staffed.
The school will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, Grandin Road at Brandon Avenue Southwest. Dates will be March 7, 14, 21 and 28. Classes are open to clergy and laity of all denominations.
Classes will be in session from 7 to 8:30 p.m. They will include "Cancer Care for Body and Soul," "God in Odd Places - A Look at Religion in Pop Culture," "The Bible and the Moral Life: Paul's Letter to the Romans," and "That Lovin' Feeling - Building and Maintaining Effective, Intimate Christian Relationships."

Music workshop
Registration is open for a two-day music workshop for small and medium-size churches to be held Feb. 19-20 at Lake Junaluska, N.C. Open to music personnel in churches of all denominations, the workshop will include classes on accompanying and directing choirs, choral performance, children's choirs and suggestions for music for the small church choir.
Registration cost is $15 per individual or $60 per church. A housing deposit of $25 also is needed with registration.
An additional day workshop will be led by Dr. James Warren of the Lake Junaluska staff. It will be on Feb. 21 for those interested in "Music and Worship" and "Choosing Hymns for Worship."
