OBIT MASON, WILLIAM BERNARD
MASON, William Bernard, 86, of Fincastle, died Friday morning, January 22,
1993. He was born in Glade Springs, the son of James B. and Lillian Mason. He
attended VPI and was a graduate of Emory & Henry College, he taught
mathematics at Eagle Rock and James River High School and was the principal of
Eagle Rock Elementary School. He was an elder in the Fincastle Presbyterian
Church and member of Eagle Rock Ruritan Club. He is survived by his wife,
Irene Browning Mason; three sons and daughters-in-law, William B. Jr. and
Barbara Mason, Sanger, Texas, Douglas B. and Sylvia Mason, Buchanan, James P.
Mason, Roanoke; six grandchildren, Audrey Troxel, Kimberly Doran, Douglas
Mason Jr, Kristie Gilliam, Shannon Feazell, Robert B. Mason; one
great-grandson, Shea Troxel; one sister, Eleanor Mason, Glade Springs; one
brother, David F. Mason, Mt. Holly, N.C. Funeral Services will be Monday, 11
a.m. in the Fincastle Presbyterian Church conducted by the Rev. Neal
Dunnavant, assisted by the Rev. R.C. Wagner. Graveside service will be Monday,
3 p.m. at Old Glade Cemetery, Glade Springs. The family will receive friends
Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Eagle Rock Funeral Home. Memorial
donations to the Eagle Rock Rescue Squad would be appreciated.
