OBIT GOODE, SAM
GOODE, Sam, 87, of Huddleston, passed away Thursday, January 21, 1993 in the Bedford County Memorial Hospital. He was born April 8, 1905 in Southwest Virginia, a son of the late James Goode and Susan Hill Goode. He was a member of the Palestine Baptist Church and was a retired lumberman and farmer. He is survived by his wife, Mary Susie Dellis Goode; a son and daughter-in-law, Norris E. and Betty Tuck Goode, Bedford; two grandson, Jeffrey E. Goode, Seattle, Wash., Steven T. Goode, Los Angeles, Calif. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 25, 1993 at 2 p.m. from the Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford by the Rev. Christopher Fowler. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. Viewing and visitation will begin Sunday 11 a.m., where the family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and request that those wishing to make memorials should consider either the Huddleston Rescue Squad or the Palestine Baptist Church.
