ICE-T'S FEE OF $8,000 COULD BE BETTER SPENT
As a graduate of Radford University and wife of a law enforcement officer, I am very concerned that Radford University has chosen rapper Ice-T to speak on censorship for Black History Month.The cost of $8,000 to bring him to Radford seems as though it could be wisely spent on other things and using a cheaper speaker who the community and students could learn something from.
A song that supports the killing of "cops" shows a lack of support for the men and women who are putting their lives on the line every day for very little money. These men and women do this because it is a job they enjoy and they want to protect their families and communities.
There are always a few bad apples in any job, field or company; please don't blame all law enforcement officials for the actions of a few!\ Diana Hall Christiansburg
