COACH TIES RECORD FOR VICTORIES
In Roswell, N.M., Hobbs High School coach Ralph Tasker tied a national record for victories when his Eagles defeated Roswell 61-51 on Friday night.
The win was Tasker's 1,026th against 261 losses, tying Leslie Gaudet's record set at Louisiana's Pine Prairie High between 1937-1970.
"It was tremendous," Tasker said. "I don't think anybody has ever given more effort than our kids did on defense tonight."
Tasker, 73, can gain sole possession of the record with a victory Tuesday night at Clovis.
