Jimmy Porter scored 13 points and Nathan Hungate had 12 as Northside rolled over Christiansburg 59-44 to hand the Demons their 13th boys' basketball loss of the season Saturday night.The Vikings took an early lead and outscored the Demons 20-12 in the second quarter to amass an 11-point halftime lead. Northside held all Christiansburg (1-13) scorers to single-digits. \

Mike Hunter scored 22 points and Todd Wheatley added 17 as the Mountaineers slipped past the Highlanders in a non-district game.
The Highlanders went ahead 57-56 with 33 seconds left. Hunter then scored on an 8-foot shot to put Alleghany (10-2) up 58-57. Glenvar's Jason Anderson was fouled and converted two free throws to give the Highlanders a one-point lead with 10 seconds left. Every player scored for Roanoke Valley Christian (4-6, 3-4), with Brad Suhr's 10 points leading the way. Phillip Wegner had 11 rebounds and Nathan Hicks added seven assists. \
