OBIT DELLINGER, DR. JAMES LYLE

DELLINGER, Dr. James Lyle, 71, of Dugspur, passed away Friday, January 22, 1993 at University of Maryland Hospital. He was born August 31, 1921 at Clifton Forge, Virginia, to the late John Orville Dellinger and Mary Belton. He attended Elon College, N.C., Medical College of Virginia, Internship at Rex Hospital, N.C. Family Practice, Warrenton, Va., Director of Emergency Service Fauquier Hospital, Warrenton, Va. He was employed by Smith County Community Hospital Emergency Room, South Western State Hospital. He was a member of the American College of Emergency Medicine and American Academy of Family Practice, American Medical Association. Smith County Medical Society, past grand master of the Mount Carmel Masonic Lodge, member of the ACCA Temple Scottish rite, and the Warren Royal Arch Chapter #5, American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Tipton Dellinger; daughters, Kimberly R. Thrasher, Dugspur, Mary Emily Meadows, Bealeton, Va.; a son, James Lyle Dellinger Jr., King, N.C.; one brother, Robert P. Dellinger, Clifton Forge; three grandchildren. Funeral will be 1 p.m. Monday, January 25, 1993 at the Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Dugspur with the Rev. Allen Thompson officiating. Burial in the Sifford Cemetery, Pulaski County, Va. Military rites at graveside by the Hillsville V.F.W. Post #1115. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements by Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville.
