OBIT CHISOM, CHARLIE LENFORD ("PEE WEE")

CHISOM, Charlie Lenford ("Pee Wee"), 73, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, January 22, 1993. He served with the U.S. Army Airforce during World War II and was retired from the City of Roanoke, also formerly employed at American Viscose for 23 years. Survivors include his wife, Rachel Barton Chisom; one son, John Wayne Chisom of Bedford County; stepson and wife, Roscoe David and Gloria Barton, Goodview; two brothers, Alton (Bud) Chisom, and Harry Chisom, both of Roanoke; five sisters, Mrs. Ethel Adkins, Mrs. Carl (Edna) Simpson, Mrs. Lawrence (Ruby) Kelley, Mrs. Ralph (Edith) Fisher, all of Roanoke, Mrs. Rufus (Alice) Aliff, Louisville, Ky.; one grandson and wife, Roscoe David Barton II and Sonya Barton, Hardy; one great-grandaughter, Jessica Barton, Hardy. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 25, 1993 from the Lotz Vinton Chapel. The Rev. Robert W. Lanier will officiate. Interment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Lotz Vinton Chapel.
