OBIT LEWIS, WILLIAM S. SR., ("DICK")
LEWIS, William S. Sr., ("Dick"), 81, of Roanoke, passed away January 21,
1993. He went to be with the Lord Thursday afternoon. He was a retired farmer
from the Old Huff Farm. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Welch
Lewis and two daughters, Edna M. Moss and Margaret Louise Lewis. Mr. Lewis is
survived by five sons and three daughters-in-law, Harry L. and Mabel Lewis,
Salem, James E. and In Lewis, Fincastle, William S. Jr. and Shirley Lewis,
Benjamin L. and Brenda Lewis, Richard Lewis; two daughters and one son-in-law,
Lucille and George Graves and Gertrude Lewis; two brothers, Alfonso Lewis and
Jack E. Lewis; sister, Edna M. Lewis; sister-in-law, Geneva Welch, all of
Roanoke; two brothers-in-law, Roy Welch and Frank Welch, both of Washington,
D. C.; sixteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a devoted nephew,
Stafford Lewis Sr.; a devoted friend, Westena Johnson; a host of nieces,
nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held
Tuesday, 11 a.m. Hamlar-Curtis Chapel. Dr. Herman Word officiating with burial
in Williams Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8
p.m. at the funeral home. Hamlar-Curtis, Morticians.
