VETERANS' HOSPITAL IS TO BE PRAISED

I AM HAPPY to say how great the care is at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Salem. It has gotten a bad rap from the media about things that cannot be controlled or helped.

As an old veteran who came from a military hospital to the Salem VA in 1955, I am qualified to comment. The doctors are good, the nurses well-trained, the whole staff acts as a compassionate family and the food is unbeatable.

Unless you have received care from all the hospitals in the valley and know the system, then please do not bad-mouth the VA. I sincerely appreciate everything they have done for me. WILLIAM W. ARNOLD SALEM
