CONGRATULATIONS to President Bill Clinton, Vice President Al Gore and Sen. Chuck Robb. I'm so very glad that you are all winners. Our country is blessed to have these young, handsome and very knowledgeable men to run for the highest offices and to win.
Clinton reminds me so much of former President John Kennedy, being youthful and very intelligent. You don't get to be a Rhodes Scholar unless you are. Also, when he speaks, he sounds so much like Kennedy.
Vice President Gore, who has almost the same qualities as Clinton, is a most worthy co-worker.
I'd like to shout it loud and clear how pleased and happy I am, as many other folks are, that after two years of persecution Robb has finally been vindicated. And those persons who were out to get him can finally give up.
In his speech, Kennedy said, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." So why can't each working person and those retired like myself send $1 a month to Washington toward the deficit? In a year's time, there could be a great showing toward lowering this great debt and taxes wouldn't have to be raised.
I feel that all Americans who love this country would be pleased and proud to make this contribution toward lowering the debt. FRANCES H. JOHNSON SELMA
