APPRAISER FOUND GUILTY OF ASSAULT

J.D. Boone, an appraiser from Speedwell, was found guilty Monday in Wythe County General District Court on an assault charge made by a former secretary.

Boone was fined $500 but the fine was suspended. Testimony said the charge stemmed from a pushing-and-shoving incident lasting, off and on, as long as 40 minutes. - Southwest bureau
