1 KILLED IN WRECK NEAR VALLEY VIEW

One man was killed and two people were injured in a single-car accident Tuesday night near Valley View Mall.

The accident occured shortly before 11 p.m. when the car, traveling along Valley View West, crashed head-on into a traffic signal pole at the intersection of Valley View Boulevard.

Authorities did not know the identity of the driver who was killed or of the two passengers, who were taken to Roanoke Memorial Hospital. It was not clear whether they were wearing seatbelts.
