OBIT RIDGWAY, CHARLES PETE

RIDGWAY, Charles Pete, 75, of Roanoke, died Sunday, January 24, 1993. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of Waverly Place Baptist Church, and a retired supervisor from Vinton Weaving Mill. Pete was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Diane Ridgway, and his wife, Lillie Simmons Ridgway. Surviving are two sons, Charlie C. Ridgway, Douglas D. Ridgway, both of Roanoke; his grandchildren, Angie, Jessi and Jacob Ridgway; and three sisters, Bland Scott of Burksville, Mary Sally Powers of Newport News, Virginia Chitwood of Roanoke. Funeral services will be held at Waverly Place Baptist Church Wednesday, January 27, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Charles S. Hoffler officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
