CHILHOWIE TOPS MARION 65-60
Josh Eller and Chris French each sank critical fourth-quarter baskets and D.J. Preston made five of six free throws down the stretch Tuesday to lift Chilhowie to a 65-60 non-district high school basketball victory over Marion.Shane Olinger led Chilhowie (8-5) with 23 points and Tim Polk added 17 points and 13 rebounds. Preston added 16 points.
Brian Cregger had a game-high 29 points for Marion (6-8). \

David Lambert scored 23 points as the Rockets flew past the Green Wave for a Mountain Empire district win.
Brad Harden paced Bland (8-5, 6-5) with 17 points. Jesse Selfe scored 13 points and Chris Tickle added 11.
Chad Fleeman scored 22 points to lead Narrows (5-7, 4-6). \

Stanleytown Baptist 67
COVINGTON - Boys' Home outscored Stanleytown 60-36 in the middle two quarters and rolled to the non-district victory.
The Indians (8-6) led 18-14 after one quarter before erupting for 33 points in the second and outscoring Stanleytown 27-13 in the third. A defensive change from a half-court zone to a pressing 1-3-1 zone sparked the charge.
Troy Coleman led Boys Home with 23 points, including four 3-pointers. Scottie Forbes added 22 and Bobby Trice 15. Wesley Craig led Stanleytown (7-8) with 22. \
