OBIT NEWELL, CHARLES FRANKLIN
NEWELL, Charles Franklin, 58, of Buena Vista, died Tuesday, January 26, 1993 in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital. He was born in Rockbridge County on December 29, 1934, the son of the late Charles and Josephine Painter Newell. He was employed in the shipping department at Burlington Industries. He is survived by his wife, Verna Martin Newell, Buena Vista; two sons, Timothy Andrew Newell and Matthew Mark Newell, both of Buena Vista; one brother, William G. Newell, Ashville, N.C. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Lomax Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Greg Martin officiating. Interment will be in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Lomax Funeral Home, Buena Vista.
