OBIT COLES, ISRAEL DENNIS

COLES, Israel Dennis, of Bedford, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 1993, in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Frances B. Coles. Born in Bedford County, he was the son of Catherine B. and the late William Dennis Coles, was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church in Peaksville. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by three sons, William D., Donald R. and Michael J. Coles, all of Bedford; two daughters, Connie F. and Ramona G. Coles, both of Bedford; one daughter-in-law, Joyce Coles; five brothers, Odell, Lorenzo and Nathaniel Coles, all of Bedford, Roger Coles of Arlington, Va., John Coles of Winston-Salem, N. C.; three sisters, Betty C. Jackson of Los Angeles, Calif., Nearlean C. Tanner, Virginia C. Robertson, both of Bedford; six grandchildren, two aunts, a devoted friend, Bernice Hollands and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at the residence of his daughter, Ramona G. Coles, 911 Longwood Ave., Apt. 1 in Bedford, also at his sister's residence, Virginia Robertson, Route 5, Bedford. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, 2 p.m. at the Antioch Baptist Church in Bedford County. Interment will follow in the family cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening 7 to 8 at the Bedford Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements by Bedford Funeral Home.
