OBIT OVERSTREET, CHARLOTTE ELIZABETH, ("LIB")

OVERSTREET, Charlotte Elizabeth, ("Lib"), 70, of 1217 Ashland Circle, Bedford, died Thursday, January 28, 1993, at her home. She was born in Bedford, June 13, 1922, a daughter of the late E. H. Merritt and Opal Ruley Merritt. She was a member of Bedford Baptist Church and sang in the choir for many years. She was selected "Women of the Year" by the Bedford Business and Professional Women's Club in 1959 and also a past president of the Belmont Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, G. E. "Dick" Overstreet. She is survived by two sisters, Vernelle Graham and Lucy Graham, both of Bedford; also several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, January 30, 1993, in the Oakwood Cemetery with the Dr. Ron R. Blankenship and the Rev. Travis E. Witt officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bedford Life Saving Crew and the American Cancer Society.
