OBIT HOUCHINS, KATHERINE ALLEN

HOUCHINS, Katherine Allen, 74, of Maple Shade, N.J., died Wednesday, January 27, 1993. She was formerly of Roanoke and the widow of Ransom B. Houchins. Mrs. Houchins was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientists in Haddonfield, N.J., where she served as an usher and assistant librarian in the reading room. She was also a member of the Mother Church in Boston, Mass. Surviving are her daughter, Louise Green Crow, Springfield, Va.; sister, Juanita Eaton, Roanoke, three grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel noon Saturday. Interment will be in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Christian Science Reading Room in Haddonfield, N.J. 08033. The family will receive friends at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 11 a.m. til noon on Saturday.
