HUNTERS WOULDN'T BE AFFECTED
I JUST don't understand all this controversy over the proposed gun law. I, too, am a gun owner, and I believe very strongly that anyone wanting to own a gun should be able to do so.However, I have never needed guns so desperately that I had to make multiple purchases in one month. And all the hunter's rifles will not be affected by this law, since we're talking handguns.
What gets me more than anything is how many times I hear "constitutional right." Well, when that very same right was officially recorded, we were tamping black powder and following it with lead balls. AK-47s and the reality of innocent children being mowed down in school yards didn't exist.
I have toyed with the idea of becoming a member of the National Rifle Association. If these extremely biased, closed-minded opinions are the best they have to offer for my membership dues and support, I'll have to pass. CAROL BISHOP BLACKSBURG
