TIMESLAND ATHLETES SHINE AT TECH MEET

Five Timesland athletes were top finishers at the Tech Bookstore & Comfort Inn High School Indoor Track Invitational on Saturday at Rector Fieldhouse.

Tiki Barber of Cave Spring won the men's long jump with a distance of 23 feet, 7.75 inches, and his twin brother, Ronde, placed second in the 55-meter hurdles. Thomas Springer of Blacksburg High School placed fourth in the high jump.

In women's competition, Katie Ollendick of Blacksburg won the women's high jump with a jump of 5 feet, 4 inches. Emile Rakes of Cave Spring finished second in 5-2. Ollendick also placed third in the women's 500-meter run. - Staff report
