OBIT STRICKLER, SHIRLEY ASHBY

STRICKLER, Shirley Ashby, 59, of Route 1, Ferrum, died Friday, January 29, 1993, in the local hospital. Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Phillip Soloman of Ferrum; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Tony and Rachel Strickler of Modesto, Calif., Keith Strickler of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Manola Ashby, Wirtz; two sisters, Beulah Thompson, Barbara Jean Martin, both of Wirtz. Memorial services will be conducted 4 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 1993, at Flora Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or to Ferrum Rescue Squad. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service, 342 S. Main St., Rocky Mount.
