SHAWSVILLE LOSES 6 PLAYERS
Shawsville has lost six members from its varsity boys' basketball team after three players quit and three were put on disciplinary suspension by the school.The three who quit are Jason Booth, Jory Underwood and Mike Roop. Jerry Nichols, Conrad Hughes and Eric Lawson were suspended by school principal Nelson Simpkins.
Roop (9.4 points per game), Nichols (7.2 ppg.) and Underwood (5.7 ppg.) were the team's second-, third- and fourth-leading scorers.
School officials declined to comment on the suspensions.
Without the six players, Shawsville (2-12) lost 96-38 at Auburn on Friday night.

At Paducah, Ky., Jerry Stackhouse had 26 points, and Jeff McInnis added 19 points and 12 assists Sunday as Oak Hill Academy defeated Muhlenberg North 78-63.
Oak Hill (22-0) was in control the whole way, leading 35-27 at halftime.
Jim Salsbury had 14 points for Muhlenberg North (13-3). \
