OBIT-BROWN, LUCIAN ATWOOD

BROWN, Lucian Atwood, 70, of Route 1, Union Hall, died Saturday, January 30, 1993, in a Roanoke hospital. Mr. Brown was retired from the E. I. DuPont Company and was the son of the late Oscar and Blanche Kelley Brown. Surviving are his wife, Norma Jean Brown; one brother and sister-in-law, Henry E. and Mary Jo Brown; one sister and brother-in-law, Myrtle B. (Becky) and Lewis E. Brown, all of Union Hall; two nephews, Lowell E. Brown and his wife, Jeannie of Union Hall; Kelley G. Brown of Kilmarnock, Va.; two great-nieces, Andrea and Carolyn Brown; his mother-in-law, Vivian Blake of Oak Hill, W. Va.; two uncles and their wives, Norton and Virginia Kelley, Rocky Mount, Eldren and Lula Kelley of Glade Hill; five aunts, Fannie Dudley, Etta Brown, both of Roanoke; Julia Kelley, Vinton; Hettie Hodges, Rocky Mount, and Maggie Cundiff of Moneta; a special friend, Judy B. Emler of Rocky Mount. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 2, 1993, in the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Edward McLain and the Rev. J. D. Hunt III officiating. Burial will follow in the Brown Family Cemetery near the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Glade Hill Rescue Squad or to the Cool Branch Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Home, Rocky Mount.
