OBIT-GOAD, HASSIE MAE

GOAD, Hassie Mae, 73, of Dugspur, passed away Sunday, January 31, 1993, at Twin County Community Hospital, Galax. Born April 12, 1919, at Carroll County, she was a daughter of Maude Nester Goad and the late Monroe Goad, and the widow of Elder Everett C. Goad. In addition to her mother, she is survived by three daughters, Thelma Edmonds of Hillsville, Mary G. Burnette of Martinsville, Nancy Louise Bleckley of Bassett; two sons, E. Owen Goad of Dugspur, Carl M. Goad of Hillsville; three sisters, Beatrice Cox of Collinsville, Alva Dove and Christine Mills, both of Martinsville; three brothers, Marvin Goad of Woodlawn, Archie Goad of Willis, Berlin Goad of Dugspur; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 1993, at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with the Rev. Norman Goad and Elder Carbon Vass officiating. Burial will follow in the Goad Cemetery, Silver Leaf Community. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements by Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville.
