WINGATE, Agnes J., 67, of Independence, passed away Saturday, January 30, 1993, at Twin County Community Hospital, Galax, Va. She was the widow of J. Richard Wingate. She was a retired teacher's aid, Grayson County Schools and a member of First United Methodist Church of Independence. Surviving are daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Randy Woolwine, Roanoke, Va.; two sons and daughter-in-law, Doug and Janet Wingate, Raleigh, N. C.; Bobby and Sharon Wingate, Independence, Va.; sister, Mary Stagliano, Westchester, Pa.; six grandchildren also survive. Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Independence with the Rev. Steve Blakemore officiating with interment in the Independence Cemetery. The body will remain at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Monday night from 7 to 9. Flowers will be appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to Independence Rescue Squad, P. O. Box 607, Independence, Va. 24348. The family will be at the home, where friends may call at anytime.
