HARGRAVE DROPS NORTH CROSS
Ivus Norville and Rod Cobb scored 27 points each as Hargrave Military Academy remained unbeaten in the Virginia Independent Conference by drilling third-ranked North Cross 75-55 in a boys' basketball game on Monday.Hargrave (13-1 overall, 9-0 VIC) was ranked seventh in the state private school coaches' poll released on Monday with 79 points. With 103 points, North Cross (15-5, 8-1) was third behind Flint Hill and Norfolk Academy.
The Raiders trailed by 14 points after the first quarter in which Norville and Cobb accounted for 21 of Hargrave's 25 points. In the third quarter, the Raiders cut the deficit to six points, but couldn't get closer.
Junior guard Marcus Cardwell led North Cross with 18 points and seven assists. Sophomore Montrice Smith added 13 points and senior center Mike Bryan grabbed 14 rebounds. \

Abby Dickson had 12 points and nine rebounds in leading the Celtics past the Tigers in a non-conference game.
Roanoke Catholic (14-3) got 18 points from its bench and all but one player on the team scored. Hargrave (2-9) had only three players score. \
